The recent death of James Gandolfini, best known for his portrayal of Tony Soprano in the HBO series The Sopranos, has left many fans stunned and saddened. Did you know that he also produced two veteran oriented documentaries for HBO?

In 2007, he produced and interviewed veterans for Alive Day Memories: Home From Iraq. In this documentary he interviews ten soldiers who reveal their feelings about their future, their severe disabilities and their devotion to America. Gandolfini had first visited Iraq in 2004 as part of his participation with the USO. To learn more about this powerful documentary and the stories of the soldiers click here.

He also produced Wartorn: 1861-2010 in 2010. This documentary focuses on PTSD throughout America’s wars. You can visit the documentary website to hear the interviews and find resources as well.

To support veterans like those interviewed, consider donating or reminding your friends that they can donate a car to Vets Vehicles.
